    I know, right?!!

    April 1, 2009

It’s like a ghost town around here anymore. I’ve just been busy with about six million, give or take a million or two depending on the day, different things. You know, like vacuuming every hour on the hour because Spring has sort of graced us with Her presence in the form of mud/dirt clods all over the hardwood. Keeping the dirt clods mostly off the floors helps me to keep my sanity and really, I need all the help I can get in that department.

On an unrelated note, why can I never remember how to spell vacuuming correctly? I always want to spell it v-a-c-c-u-m-i-n-g instead of the correct v-a-c-u-u-m-i-n-g. Another totally random, yet related fact? Every time I have to spell vacuum (or some form/tense/etc of vacuum), I totally have a mental field trip back to sixth grade (What up, Mrs. Ready) and a particular spelling test that contained the word ‘vacuum’ that I managed to pass with flying colors. Huh, I guess the thrill of spelling it correctly has not stayed with me all these years later.

    Moving on…

Yeah, so I need to write more over here more often. It seems like the only time that I have to sit down and write a cohesive post happens after Owen is in bed for the night and usually I have other client/school/anything but computer related things that I need to be doing during that time. I’ve even toyed with the idea of turning it into more of a photo blog–just so that I can have a record of all the things that I do accomplish (like this week, I’m sewing a duvet cover and fitted sheet for Owen as a bribe to sleep in his own bed ALL NIGHT LONG). I dunno–I don’t feel like I want to close shop here just yet, but I’m having a hard time acheiving some sort of balance in my life that would allow me to write more.

I am trying to revive Mommy Needs A Review again, so I have been posting over there at least once a week for the last couple of weeks. If you have something that you think would benefit from a review (it doesn’t even have to be an ‘item’ per se–services that would benefit Moms/Families/Kids are great too), please, feel free to drop me a line at trena ‘at’ trenabdesigns ‘dot’ com (you know how to fix the address, right?!!!).

I have thoughts inside my head

    January 22, 2009

And how great would it be if I would actually post those thoughts to my blog? Fantastic indeed.

School is back in as of last week and we are 75% finished with potty training around my house. Except someone, who shall remain anonymous but wears size 2t underwear, is having some issues with wanting the Browns to make it to the Super Bowl, if you know what I’m saying and anyone who’s a parent does, so there have been some ugly moments. I mean really, none of the parenting books (that I’ve perused anyway) have that special chapter to prepare you on how to gently break it to your child that their stomach will continue to hurt until they finally give in and poop and that no amount of leg crossing is going to hold things back when their body finally decides it’s had enough. Especially when their mother is slipping them large amounts of prune juice in their sippy cup. *Ahem* Not that I or anyone in my household would know anything about any of those things.

I have also become so enamored of my twitter account in the last few days. Wow, all these random thoughts that flit around in my mind, I can totally share them, nay–I totally NEED to share them with the world and people with choose to follow me on account of it. Daily self-validation in carefully measured 140 characters or less sized doses. Is it wrong to be relieved when someone un-follows you and as a result you can un-follow them and all their stupid, inane and not worth reading tweets? Well, if so, then I probably don’t want to be right.

    So I’ve been a little busy…

    December 13, 2008

Let’s just say that 2.5 years (as in how old Owen will be come January 19th) is running me ragged most days. 2.5 is funny, entertaining and extremely trying all in one highly energetic and loving bundle.

Never fear though, I have been taking time out to keep myself amused. I finally caved and opened my own Etsy shop–you can visit here if you are so inclined:Jumping Bean Designs. Sewing is (for the most part) very relaxing and enjoyable for me and as an added bonus, Owen will tolerate me sitting at the sewing machine while he plays nearby, unlike his intense and immediate need to drag me away the moment I sit down in front of the computer. Plus I let him cut all my threads with a very sharp pair of scissors, so that could be definitely be a plus for his feelings toward the sewing machine.

Hope all is well with you and yours this time of year and although the economy might currently suck (and getting worse by the day), may you be blessed to have life continue on pretty much as usual.
