I’m currently playing “Let’s avoid homework” (which would be writing an easy validation script in javascript, but I’m not feeling enthused about it) and getting ready to play “Let’s clean up the kitchen before the Department of Health has to step in”. Okay, so the kitchen really isn’t all that bad, but seriously, the whole “I just cleaned everything up, what do you mean it’s time to do it all over again” rigamarole gets old. Guess who’s not feeling the love for the daily things that have to be done around the house, lest the whole place start sliding down that slippery slope ending in total squalor? Meh. Most of the time cleaning up and keeping up with the cleaning of things doesn’t bother me, but something about the futility of it all, the never-ending cycle of cleaning has just overwhelmed me this week. I’m not pointing any fingers, but it could just be the result of someone slinging sticky sticky juice all over the hardwood that I slaved over washing a little over a week ago. Yeah, that would definitely be a distinct forerunner in a list of reasons why the housework has me out of sorts this week.
So let’s talk about good things instead. Today, the 5th of February, was almost 70 degrees. We played outside and I didn’t have to wear a jacket. I don’t really mind winters here in Virginia (compared to winters in Idaho, a Virginia winter could almost pass for an Idaho summer. Seriously) but on days like today, it reminds me how excited I am for Spring and warmer weather to come so we can play outside and not have to feel so cooped up all the time. For all three weeks between when the weather stays nice and warm and then the humidity hits at the end of May and I once again am reminded why the season between June and August is not my friend.
It was a good day. I think I’ll tuck away our afternoon to remember when it’s raining and 40 degrees at the end of the week.

Nice post! You are so eloquent! I have tried to say the same thing (futility of housework) so many times, and it has never come out so well!
My class tonight went pretty well! They voted to have it once a week! If all the classes do that, I may need to combine because I can’t see doing this 4 times a week, every week! Of course, I was lucky tonight because everyone had previous experience…we’ll see how tomorrow goes!

The thought of understanding anything in javascript makes my eyes roll back into my head and my brain to shut down. Props for understanding it at all!
